Background

SMARTfund Advantage was launched in November 2008 and is the UK’s first Authorised Unit Trust (AUT) delivered using Separately Managed Account technology. By combining the international Separately Managed Account concept with that of an AUT, SMARTfunds are able to offer investors and their advisers the best of both offerings.

Each SMARTfund range is set up as an Authorised Unit Trust scheme classified as a non-UCITS retail scheme (NURS) and structured as an umbrella scheme under the COLL Sourcebook. The Trustee of SMARTfund Advantage is HSBC Bank plc.

SMARTfund Administration Limited is the manager of the SMARTfund Advantage, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Præmium Portfolio Services Limited. Præmium is a specialist portfolio administration provider whose systems currently report on in excess of £20bn* worth of assets for over 500 firms. In Australia, Præmium provides its proprietary technology to BlackRock Investment Managers (Australia) Ltd to power its Separately Managed Account (SMA) service, the BlackRock Customised Portfolio Service.
